28th March 2011 DTP823 work in progress
Next, work to clear the
storage on the upper deck to commence.

28th March 2011 work in progress with no.189 the Leyland Titan PD1a as the flooring down stairs and the stress panels near
completion, the upper deck requires clearing before work can start. Also work starts to rebuild the platform on
our open topper no.4 the PD2, due to corrosion around the platform. Also the opportunity was taken to replace
the clutch which was in need of replacement.

14th November 2010 STP995 Portsmouth Spaceship Arrives
14th November 2010 saw the arrival of 123 at out Wicor Depot Site for the first time, sometimes CPPTD are offered
donations of buses, and this is one example of an opportunity that could not be
decline. It is one of only 5 PD3’s that were built for the
Corporation and was accepted with grateful thanks. These were larger than the standard
size buses, they were known by staff as Spaceships. This is
one of two purchased by Transport and Road Research Laboratory in 1976
after receiving modifications which included the building an inspection
platform on the roof and closing off the rear entrance, all work was carried
out by the workshops in Eastney Depot. This bus has had all those
modifications removed, and with parts removed from sister no.124 will help to
complete the restoration.

24th May 2010 work on no.7 continues with new panels on the nearside, and no.189 is moved into position ready for our retired members to continue with
the restoration work, Nearside stress panels have been fitted as the replacement floor is nearing completion.
